A Lover's Moon (poem)
Moonlight pours through the open window
Filtering onto spent bodies a pale white glow
Branded upon his shoulders flush the marks of love
Crimson ribbons twist beneath light from above
Reminds me of something wild and untamed
Like the yearning for passion so long un-named
Pelts out now like unkempt sin
Upon sinewy muscle and milky skin
Atop a few mornings they will be gone
Just memories of the night’s passion song
An echo of a glow that falls across the room
Faint scratches in the lover’s moon
Filtering onto spent bodies a pale white glow
Branded upon his shoulders flush the marks of love
Crimson ribbons twist beneath light from above
Reminds me of something wild and untamed
Like the yearning for passion so long un-named
Pelts out now like unkempt sin
Upon sinewy muscle and milky skin
Atop a few mornings they will be gone
Just memories of the night’s passion song
An echo of a glow that falls across the room
Faint scratches in the lover’s moon
